Senior Accountant

A well-established organization in the Northern Virginia area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its collaborative and growing finance team. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement while supporting strategic initiatives and daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and eager to add value through accurate financial management and thoughtful analysis.

• Maintain complete and accurate general ledgers across multiple entities in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives.
• Oversee financial report preparation and operational performance metrics.
• Lead annual audit preparation, including compiling audit schedules and documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and efficiency.
• Manage billing, revenue recognition, and account reconciliations.
• Research and document accounting treatments for complex transactions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred, not required).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full‑cycle accounting.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel and general proficiency with financial systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
