Hatchery Operative, Hatchery Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Hatchery Operative based at North Antrim Hatchery.

The position involves being a member of a team of hatchery operatives and reporting to the management team. Effective liaison, teamwork and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff is essential.

The job is performed mainly in a comfortable hatchery environment and involves extensive periods standing. The employee is required to operate effectively in processing, packing, boxing, labelling and counting product as required. It is imperative that the employee is aware of health and safety regulations and adheres to them.

• Operate, process, pack, box, label and count product as required.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisory staff to achieve production goals.
• Maintain awareness of health and safety regulations and comply with them.
• Interact effectively with other operatives and management.
• Support maintenance and cleanliness of the hatchery environment as needed.

• Must be literate and numerate.
• Must be able to think clearly.
• Must be able to work as a team member.
• Must have a positive attitude to work and others.
• Good manual dexterity is essential.
• Good communication skills are desirable.
• The ability to work on own initiative and learn new skills is desirable.
• Previous hatchery and/or production and/or livestock and/or cleaning experience is desirable.
• Evidence of mechanical aptitude is desirable.

The hours of work are Tuesday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, and Saturday 6:00 am – 1:30 pm.
