Job Summary

Wrightbus is the fastest growing production company in Europe. We are looking for an assistant commodity buyer to select suppliers who will supply materials at the optimum acquisition cost ensuring quality standards are maintained and departmental goals achieved.

The Role
  • Responsible for ensuring timely responses for adhoc pricing for our warranty, retail and repair bays
  • Responsible for ensuring pricing & supply queries are expedited for our internal materials colleagues to ensure speed and accuracy of supply
  • Responsible for issuing requests for quotation (RFQ's) for any new parts on new tenders - assisting the Commodity Buyers
  • Populate Sage System with the price, lead-time and supplier details as necessary.
  • Liaise with suppliers on delivery key performance indicators - such as shortages, quality & invoice queries.
  • To actively contribute to achieving departmental goals and objectives. Relating to supplier reduction and cost reductions.
  • To administer supplier agreements and see them through to implementation in conjunction with the Commodity Buyers
  • Source new suppliers for items within the allocated commodities.
  • Discuss with suppliers to achieve optimum batch sizes and hence reduce costs.
The Requirements
  • Degree Qualification
  • 2 years relevant experience in aftermarket parts sales work (sales or purchasing)

OR

  • 3-4 years relevant experience in aftermarket parts sales work (sales or purchasing)
  • 2 years demonstratable experience of complex manufacturing environments & processes.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Experience of processing quotations
  • Demonstratable experience of cost reductions taken from idea to implementation.
