Overview
The Home — Rose Court is a professional, person-centred care and nursing home in Ballymena. This spacious home provides specialist care services for older people, including residential, dementia and general nursing. We continuously strive to maintain a safe, comfortable and homely environment and a calm and restful atmosphere for our residents. Our compassionate care teams provide 24-hour care and offer companionship and assistance to residents as required, ensuring they feel listened to and supported.
The light and spacious private bedrooms are beautifully furnished, all with en-suite facilities. The home is designed to enable residents to maintain independence in a safe environment and includes amenities such as a café, lounges and dining spaces for socialising. Residents are welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture to personalise their space.
The RoleHousekeeper at Kathryn Homes is essential to our mission to provide excellent care. The Housekeeper leads the domestic and laundry teams and ensures the Home is clean, tidy and welcoming at all times. The role works closely with the Home Manager, care teams and residents to create a comfortable environment where residents feel safe and cared for.
Typical duties include keeping rooms clean, tidying communal areas and ensuring cleanliness across the Home.
Main Responsibilities- Oversee and perform a variety of cleaning tasks throughout the Home (vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, cleaning surfaces in resident rooms, communal areas and offices) in line with cleaning and laundry schedules.
- Manage the domestic team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas and hallways.
- Identify and report damage, faults or other issues to maintenance or management.
- Adhere to the cleaning and auditing schedule.
- Ensure safe storage of cleaning products, use COSHH-compliant procedures and ensure cleaning machinery and equipment are used and stored safely.
- Undertake other duties reasonably required by the Home Manager.

Required Criteria
- A good standard of both verbal and written English
- Relevant experience for the role
- The right to work in the UK
Desired Criteria
- Basic knowledge of COSHH, health and safety and fire regulations
- Previous experience in a health and social care setting
- Experience supervising staff
