Overview

Holmes Court is a newly built residential home in Ballymena providing specialist care for adults 18+ with complex needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviours. Conveniently located within walking distance of local shops and parks, and accessible by bus and train, Holmes Court is next door to Slemish Nursing Home.

The Role

The General Assistant role at Healthcare Ireland is a blended role, working with the Housekeeping and Kitchen team to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Home. The General Assistants ensure the smooth and safe operation of kitchens, housekeeping and laundry functions, delivering high-quality meals and a clean environment, contributing to residents’ wellbeing through person-centred surroundings. Working as part of the Kitchen and Housekeeping team, reporting to the Housekeeper and Chef, the role includes meeting residents’ dietary needs and maintaining a clean and tidy environment.

Main

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the expected standards are achieved throughout the home
  • Cover domestic, kitchen and laundry duties; training in all 3 areas provided
  • Identify and report damage, faults or issues to maintenance or management
  • Adhere to the cleaning and auditing schedule
  • Use and store cleaning products in accordance with COSHH regulations
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Home Manager

Required Criteria
  • To be numerate and literate with a good standard of English
  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • Have basic knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety, Fire and Security Regulations
  • Previous experience in relevant role
Desired Criteria
  • Relevant work experience in a care home/ healthcare environment
  • Previous experience in domestic, laundry or kitchen environment
