Embassy Summer, a brand under EC English, provides award‑winning summer vacation programmes for young people across the UK, Malta, Spain, South Africa and UAE. Students learn English or Spanish while immersing themselves in local culture through language classes, excursions and a range of sporting, creative and social activities.
Position Summary:Teachers facilitate the development of students’ Life Skills and Academic Skills by engaging them in conversation and providing feedback that helps them build communicative competence.
Key Responsibilities:- Promote and safeguard the welfare of students for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact
- Teach the Embassy Summer lesson
- Deliver engaging lessons that encourage active participation
- Provide feedback that facilitates communication skill development
- Maximise student satisfaction by ensuring their experience meets or exceeds expectations
- Play an active role in developing students’ life skills throughout their Embassy Summer experience
- To teach the Embassy Summer lesson
- To manage the classroom appropriately
- To monitor student welfare and report any concerns immediately
- To attend daily lesson preparation sessions
- To act on feedback from observations
- To attend at least one weekly workshop
- To complete academic administration in a timely manner
- To attend all relevant meetings
- To lead activities if requested to do so
- To carry out residential supervision duties, including meal and bedtime supervision (where applicable)
- To carry out other duties necessary for the smooth running of the centre as required
The job holder will operate in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct and any local policies relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters. Employees must cooperate fully with all Health and Safety arrangements, including risk assessments and training.
Education Required:- Completed or studying a level 6 qualification or above (e.g., Degree level)
- Completed a TEFL course (minimum 120 hours input)
- Completed a 4‑hour summer teaching induction
- CELTA, Trinity ESOL
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent (Level 6 Qualifications and Credit Framework)
- Desire to work in education/learning
- Enthusiasm to learn and deliver lessons that motivate and engage teenage learners
- Experience of working with people
- Experience of working in a residential environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interested in developing teaching skills
- Ability to motivate, engage and inspire students
- Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
- Responds well to a challenge
- 6 days out of 7 per week (5 contact teaching days)
- 42 hours (inclusive of 30 contact teaching hours plus preparation) (
* 15 contact teaching hours per week if on a half‑day teaching schedule + activities)

All staff must wear the designated company uniform while on duty. Employees should ensure the uniform is worn properly, maintained clean and presentable, and adheres to the company’s dress code standards.
Disclosure and Barring Service:If you do not have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring certificate and are not registered on the DBS update service, we will need to apply for a new Enhanced DBS for you. Please confirm this at the time of application.
