Role Overview
Woodside Tank freight specialises in the transport of bulk powders, liquids, and gases across the UK and Ireland. Renowned for our technical expertise, operational reliability, and customer-focused approach, we are now seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our specialist Tank freight division.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and coordination of our tanker fleet and drivers, overseeing the safe and efficient distribution of bulk powders, liquids, and gases throughout the UK and Ireland. This role requires close attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of Road Traffic legislation and Working Time Regulations to ensure full compliance at all times.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrate excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, and bring a proactive, detail-driven approach to transport planning within a specialist fleet operation.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with drivers and operations teams to deliver a consistently high level of customer service
- Plan vehicles efficiently to maximise delivery and collection performance
- Accurately book, monitor, and update consignments on the Transport Management System
- Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and customer-specific requirements are met
- Coordinate with drivers and driver trainers to support completion of required training
- Work closely with fleet maintenance to ensure vehicles and equipment are available for servicing and MOTs
- Liaise with ferry operators to secure bookings and confirm sailings
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Transport or Traffic Planning role
- High levels of accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Proven experience using a Transport Management System (TMS)
