Job SummarySt Clare of Assisi Catholic Church is seeking a licensed and compassionateNurse to provide medical support during Parish School of Religion (PSR) sessions. The PSR Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of students attending weekly religious education classes, while supporting the faith-based mission of the Catholic Church.
Job ResponsibilitiesBe present during PSR sessions to respond to any student health needs, illnesses, or injuries.
Administer basic first aid and emergency care following established protocols.
Monitor students with medical conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies), and administer medication if authorized.
Maintain communication with parents regarding student health issues or incidents.
Keep accurate and confidential health records or incident reports as required.
Ensure PSR staff and volunteers are aware of emergency medical procedures and locations of supplies (e.g., Epi Pen, inhalers).
Support the safe environment policies of the parish and diocese.
Promote a calm, reassuring presence grounded in compassion and respect for Catholic values.
Job RequirementsLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or other state-recognized nursing license (required).
Current CPR and First Aid certification (required).
Experience working with children or in a school/church environment preferred.
Practicing Catholic preferred, or respectful of the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.
Ability to remain calm in emergencies, communicate clearly, and act responsibly.
Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check (required).
