Job Description
The Completions Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems used in well completions operations. This role ensures that all completion tools, mechanical components, electronic systems, and supporting equipment are maintained to operational standards and ready for deployment. The technician works closely with field operations, engineering, and warehouse teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient wellsite operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on completion tools, mechanical assemblies, hydraulic systems, and related equipment.
- Inspect, test, and certify tools and instruments to ensure operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and minor electrical issues on completion equipment.
- Execute maintenance tasks according to company standards, OEM manuals, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspection results, and equipment status.
- Ensure proper inventory, storage, handling, and tracking of tools and spare parts.
- Coordinate with field personnel to prepare and package completion tool strings and assemblies for mobilization.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies and promote safe work practices.
- Support field operations as needed, including occasional on-site technical assistance.
- Diploma (D3) or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in completion tools maintenance, oilfield equipment maintenance, or similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in maintenance of completion tools (e.g., packers, plugs, flow control tools) is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Familiarity with testing equipment and pressure control procedures.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and instrumentation is an advantage.
- Mechanical & Hydraulic Systems:
Proficiency in repairing, assembling, and maintaining tools, including understanding fluid power. - Electrical Aptitude:
Basic understanding of electrical systems. - Blueprint/Schematic Reading:
Ability to interpret, understand, and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications. - Diagnostic & Troubleshooting:
Skills to diagnose equipment issues, conduct root cause analysis, and perform repairs. - Safety Protocols:
Strict adherence to safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). - Tool Proficiency:
Experience with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments. - Digital Literacy:
Proficiency in using Maintenance Software and basic computer skills to document work orders. - Equipment Reliability knowledge
