Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through adherence to SOPs, best practices, and effective communication. They contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered.

• Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Provide empathetic, patient-centered service at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone, including offering immunizations and other services per policy.
• Contribute to inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by leadership (e.g., stocking, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories).
• Support a high-performing team, pursue ongoing clinical and technical knowledge, and embrace feedback.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility to meet business needs, including travel to stores as required.
• Understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
• Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable by law and with the required training and certification.

• Complete licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status where allowed.
• Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist on duty.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and report per requirements.
• Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
• Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing practice (including age, education, licensure/certification).
• If no minimum age is specified by the state, must be at least 16 years old.
• State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
• Attention and focus with the ability to concentrate on tasks and switch between tasks as needed.
• Customer service and team orientation with a proactive, helpful approach.
• Strong communication skills and active listening.
• Mathematical reasoning for dispensing calculations and inventory tasks.
• Problem resolution and ability to handle challenging interactions appropriately.
• Physical demands including mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs, good visual acuity, and endurance for extended periods.
• Ability to receive and convey detailed information verbally and in writing.

• 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Willingness to work in the home store and across the market as needed.
