Clinical Laboratory Scientist

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phase testing of all complexities as defined by CLIA. This includes specialized tests and analysis in areas such as Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunohematology, Serology, Parasitology, and chemical and morphological examinations. The role involves obtaining data for diagnosis and recording laboratory test results.

• Perform and report test results for all clinical laboratory procedures assigned, both automated and manual, without immediate review by supervisory personnel.
• Demonstrate proficiency, competency, and understanding of fundamental principles of clinical laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
• Monitor and be accountable for test data, quality control, quality assurance, preventive maintenance, proficiency testing, and all operations related to laboratory testing procedures.
• Notify the supervisory team of any irregularities or factors that may influence test results.
• Troubleshoot equipment and test methods.
• Monitor supplies and reagents and notify appropriate parties when levels are low.
• Perform clerical or support duties as needed, including phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients.

• Experience in inpatient specimen processing.
• Possession of a Generalist License.
• Understanding of automated and manual testing procedures.
• Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (California).

• Ideally hold a Generalist License.
• High School Education or GED required.

The position requires availability for full schedules including AM and PM shifts, with 12-hour shifts from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Candidates must be available for potential dates of work across three weeks, with a primary focus on the first week. This is an on-call position requiring work across all shifts, including weekends, and was created due to increased volume and the need for more coverage.

The dress code is professional attire or scrubs.

This is a Contract position based out of Baldwin Park, CA.

The pay range for this position is $150.00 – $150.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. This is a fully onsite position in Baldwin Park, CA.
