The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II is responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, and diagnostics for light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. The technician can perform advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a Senior Mobile Diesel Technician or higher, and continually learns additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentiates.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and generate and evaluate alternatives.
• Manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
• Operate the company‑issued service vehicle, completing safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
• Work effectively with clients and customers to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems.
• Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
• Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
• Document work in Repair Orders (RO) and upload photos using the TRAIT application on an iOS device.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
• Work independently and manage own daily schedule.
• Maintain a high level of productivity and work within standard repair times.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary.
• Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for approvals and updates.
• Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience (or a higher degree with corresponding experience). Candidates may also have alternative combinations such as a college degree or 5+ years of experience.
• Possess the hand tools necessary for the role.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Meet DOT FMCSA regulations, including a successful pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical or valid medical card with more than 4 months remaining.
• Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
• Maintain a clean driving record and be a safe driver.
