We are seeking a commercial Driver with a CLASS A CDL for a Full‑Time position in Bakersfield to work late mornings or day shifts. In this role you will pick up and deliver hazardous waste and/or material such as crude oil, gas oil, and other products at various customer locations. This may include operation of a cargo tank. Additionally, travel may not be limited to within California.
ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operates commercial motor vehicle and associated equipment safely.
- Performs pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
- Complies with all required statutory, regulatory requirements, and company policy.
- Completes appropriate paperwork and forms, including but not limited to manifest, shipping, and receiving documents.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor at all times on shift.
- Loads and unloads truck, which may include hazardous waste and/or materials.
- Communicates with customers, supervisors, and other employees effectively.
- Uses good judgment in making decisions, in emergency and routine situations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Commercial Class A Driver's License with Hazmat, TSA, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements.
- At least 2 years of experience driving a commercial vehicle and maintaining a Commercial Class A driver's license required.
- Crude and asphalt experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual and Automatic Transmission required.
- Wednesday – Sunday (possible adjustment).
- Must be available to work over the road (OTR, 2‑3 days of the week) and local.
- Start times may vary between 12 PM–3 PM, depending on operational needs.
