Brief Description
Field Service Technician – responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining low, medium, high voltage electrical system equipment. This position is based in Bakersfield, CA.
Responsibilities- Provide industry‑best customer service and always exceed the customer’s expectations.
- Assume emergency on‑call duties and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.
- Contribute to a safe work environment; adhere to all safety policies outlined in the company safety manual and customer safety guidelines.
- Exhibit a positive collaborative attitude.
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain low, medium, high‑voltage electrical system equipment.
- Setup and perform electrical tests on the following equipment:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and reference check.
- Maintain a current valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Eligibility to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored VISA (work permit).
- Prolonged periods (10 hours) of standing, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Perform physical labor including reaching, twisting, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and lifting.
- Perform work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds at a time.
- Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills.
- Wear Arc‑Flash suit, fall protection harness, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, respirator, and additional PPE when required.
- Work with heavy tools and equipment at heights.
- Use hand and power tools.
- TWO‑YEAR vocational or post‑high school program in electrical trades or industrial electricity.
- Associate degree in technology from an accredited 2‑year technical college or similar military experience/training.
- Experience performing medium voltage splicing and terminations.
- Experience with installation of switch gear and transformers.
- Ability to read one‑line and control diagrams.
- Computer skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Office products.
- NETA certification preferred.
- 1 year experience working on commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- 1 year hands‑on experience utilizing industrial electrical test equipment.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70‑E training.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
