Job Title:
Maintenance Electrician
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, upkeep, and safety of all facilities and equipment across office spaces, fabrication shops, and production areas. This role involves performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and supporting fabrication processes. The technician will work in compliance with OSHA safety standards, environmental regulations, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility electrical systems.
- Support custom fabrication projects by planning and commissioning electrical and mechanical systems.
- Follow maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly to avoid production delays.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal maintenance policies.
- Operate hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Recommend and implement equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Proficiency with measuring tools, fitting, and structural steel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience in industrial maintenance and facilities maintenance.
- Strong electrical, fabrication, and welding skills, including MIG welding.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing production machinery.
- Knowledge of planning and commissioning electrical and mechanical systems for custom fabrication projects.
This position offers a long-term opportunity in one of the largest fabrication shops in town.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
