Veterinary Assistant - Floater
Location:
NVA General Practice
Southwest Veterinary Hospital is a full‑service canine and feline hospital serving the area since 1938. We provide compassionate care combined with leading‑edge technology.
Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians during routine and surgical procedures.
- Perform patient assessment and physical examinations.
- Conduct phlebotomy and catheter placement.
- Monitor anesthesia and provide perioperative surgical nursing care.
- Carry out routine dental prophylaxis and basic laboratory procedures.
- Maintain and operate radiology equipment safely.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and patients.
- Adapt to daily demands and remain efficient during stressful situations.
- Previous veterinary experience required.
- Clinical skills including patient assessment, phlebotomy, anesthesia monitoring, and perioperative nursing.
- Knowledge of radiology safety and basic laboratory procedures.
- Positive team‑player attitude, excellent communication skills, and passion for growth.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm during stressful situations.
The hospital operates Monday–Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and Saturday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Compensation ranges from $17–$24 per hour.
