Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a nurse leader (CNO, Clinical Director, Supervisor, and Nurse Leader), independently prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient. Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients. The practice aligns with the ANA Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and California Nurse Practice Act.

  • Creates a compassionate environment supporting caring relationships with patients and families, utilizing mind, body, and spirit modalities to promote healing.
  • Collects and documents data for assigned patients according to prescribed methods.
  • Interprets assessment data to identify physiological and psychosocial risk factors, reports variances from normal parameters.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Uses education, experience, and assessment data to prioritize nursing actions.
  • Establishes nursing diagnoses, formulates care plans, and evaluates intervention effectiveness.
  • Manages rapidly changing situations, prioritizes responses, and activates emergency protocols as needed.
  • Performs and documents nursing processes using critical thinking and nursing judgment.
  • Coordinates patient care activities with healthcare team members.
  • Adheres to standards and evidence-based practices to ensure quality care.
  • Maintains safety and infection control protocols.
  • Participates in staff meetings, governance, and professional development activities.
  • Completes required competencies and education to stay current in nursing practice.
  • Complies with hospital policies, BRN licensure, and ANA standards.
  • Monitors practices to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge in caring for the patient populations served.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Experience with Cerner EMR.
  • Valid California RN license.
  • Advanced NRP certification.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • All health requirements as designated by the employer.
Additional Information
  • Knowledge of advanced nursing techniques, medical terminology, and medication effects.
  • Position may require specific certifications based on assignment.
