The Postpartum Nurse provides compassionate care to mothers and newborns following delivery. The RN monitors maternal recovery, supports infant care, educates patients and families, and ensures a safe and positive postpartum experience.
Responsibilities- Assess maternal and newborn health and monitor for complications.
- Assist with breastfeeding, newborn care, and parental education.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Document patient care accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and care team members.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families.
- Active RN license in the state of assignment.
- Experience in postpartum, maternal-child, or obstetric nursing preferred.
- BLS certification required; NRP preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and patient-education skills.
