Supervisor - Warehouse Packaging - Shift 1

Role:
Supervisor for Warehouse Packaging, reporting to Manager. Shift 1st. Full‑time, non‑exempt. Pay Range: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Supervisor oversees all inventory activities, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and accountability throughout warehouse operations. The role supports external and intercompany production needs, maintains material flow, leads shrink‑reduction initiatives, ensures timely data reporting, and coordinates audits.

  • Supervises product movement/rotation for maximum inventory benefit.
  • Handles employee relations: evaluations, skill development, growth, advancement, and disciplinary actions.
  • Communicates accurate information to management and other departments.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with SOPs, GMPs, policies, and guidelines.
  • Manages workflow to maximize productivity, safety, and efficiency.
  • Assigns orders to loaders based on experience level and priority.
  • Inspects and audits inbound/outbound orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Conducts shift start‑up meetings and departmental meetings.
  • Troubleshoots equipment, enforces operating instructions, and coordinates repairs.
  • Performs other assigned duties and projects to support business needs.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and customer/employee relations skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop employees using performance metrics.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive, able to exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Skillful at prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
  • Competent in entering, retrieving, and analyzing data.
  • Familiar with GMPs, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and WMS/LMS/ERP platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School/GED or 3‑5 years’ experience in inventory control or warehouse operations or combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Verifiable safe vehicle operation record; maintain a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with WMS systems such as Red Prairie and JDE.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience with FEFO/FIFO inventory rotation.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, QA, production, finance, and upper management.
Physical Demands
  • Environmental exposure – cold/wet conditions (40°F or below). Work in warehouse and all facilities.
  • Material exposure – moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3‑point contact on a regular basis.
  • Ability to use hands and arms for scanning objects in one position or repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
Hours & Work Days

1st Shift – Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Rotating workday/time off schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs.
