Light Maintenance and Custodian

Job Description

The Maintenance and Custodian team member is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well‑maintained environment for staff and visitors. This role combines custodial duties with basic maintenance tasks to support the overall functionality and appearance of the facility.

• Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and batteries
• Hang awards or pictures on walls
• Basic furniture assembly
• Touch up painting
• Fix door handles, gates, hinges or locks

Perform routine cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting).

Empty trash and recycling bins; maintain proper waste disposal practices.

Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and report issues promptly.

Assist with event setup and breakdown (tables, chairs, equipment).

Help maintain cleaning inventory and maintenance supplies; request replenishment to designated person.

Follow safety protocols and comply with company policies and procedures.

Other duties may be assigned.

High school diploma or GED equivalent; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, management, and other team members of the organization.

Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑or two‑step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Valid Driver License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk to hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The team member is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms.

The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires availability for a full‑time, 8‑hour shift, Monday through Friday. Shift will be scheduled within one of the following time frames:
Applicant must be available for either of these time frames.

• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Overtime may be requested for company events.
