Custodian

Custodian (2 positions) – Kern High School District

• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
• Experience maintaining school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency; perform heavy physical labor; understand and carry out oral and written directions; maintain cooperative working relationships.
• One year of experience in custodial or general labor work.
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary to perform the duties of the position.
• MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE. MUST SUBMIT A RECENT DMV (3 YEAR MINIMUM) DRIVING RECORD WITH APPLICATION.
• Training on asbestos and hazardous materials responsibilities.
• Criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment required before employment.

• Under supervision, perform general cleaning, custodial functions, grounds maintenance, and gardening work at an assigned school site.
• Exercise responsibility for the general cleanliness of assigned locations and perform a variety of duties in the upkeep of the assigned school site and related areas.

Starting Salary: $3,212.18 monthly
Number of Months: 12 (starting as soon as possible)
Hours: 8 per day (3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.)
