The Peer Recovery Coach engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self‑help programming.

Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high‑level engagement and de‑escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Saturday & Sunday

Expected starting wage range is $21.00 – $23.71. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment
  • California: obtain Medi‑Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA prior to hire date and maintained throughout employment.
• One (1) year or part‑time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
• Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training

• Paid Time Off:
  Eligible employees (20+ hours/week) earn PTO each pay period for vacation and personal needs, with pro‑rated accrual for part‑time schedules and annual carryover up to set caps.
• Nine Paid Holidays & Shift differentials for hourly staff (6% for PM Shift, 10% for Overnight Shift). Weekend Shift differentials for hourly staff (5% for Weekend AM Shift, 11% for Weekend PM Shift, 15% for Weekend Overnight Shift)

Telecare Kern Adult Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a 16‑bed acute inpatient facility for adults 18+ experiencing a mental health illness related emergency. Admission is voluntary or involuntary (5150).
