Clinica Sierra Vista is a regional representative of the EWC (Every Woman Counts) Program for Kern and Fresno County. Every Woman Counts (EWC) program provides FREE breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services to California’s underserved populations. The mission of EWC is to save lives by preventing and reducing the devastating effects of cancer for Californians. The EWC Coordinator is responsible for activities of the EWC program including patient navigation, compliance, outreach related to the program, and reducing the time frame from cancer diagnosis to treatment initiation.
The EWC Coordinator is responsible for coordinating services for CSV patients.
- Patient Navigation
- Assist patients and families with scheduling EWC, specialty, and related appointments.
- Arrange PCP visits for patients referred for preventive care needs.
- Support patient logistics such as transportation and social service referrals (e.g., food bank).
- Patient Enrollment & Coverage Support
- Enroll eligible patients in EWC, BCCTP, and other cancer prevention/care programs.
- Support patients in obtaining appropriate health coverage.
- Compliance, Documentation & Records Management
- Ensure compliance with funding requirements, CSV policies, and legal standards.
- Ensure required EWC visit forms are completed and submitted appropriately.
- Maintain organized patient records and upload documentation to the EWC portal.
- Participate in and lead EWC audits and support corrective actions as required.
- Reporting, Outreach & Community Education
- Maintain EWC program statistics and produce monthly/annual reports on enrollment and outcomes.
- Conduct outreach to engage patients and promote program participation.
- Program Coordination
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EWC requirements and CSV/partner services.
- Identify gaps in program operations or patient care and support improvements
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program Required.
- Experience:
Five years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient setting preferred. - Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in HER Documentation is highly desired.
- Knowledge of or experience with HEDIS and UDS preferred.
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
- Experience working in a FQHC preferred.
- Must be able to work a full-time schedule.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screening (background check, drug tests, and references).
- Must be able to comply with organizational behavioral standards.
