Job Summary and Responsibilities
The goal of the Music Therapy Program is to introduce patients with a wide array of diagnoses to a non-invasive treatment option that promotes health and well-being. A trained, certified music therapist will use planned, live music interventions to aid patients in reaching their therapeutic goals.
To implement this new program, ASC will contract/hire a music therapist to provide services three hours a week at both Mercy Downtown and Mercy Southwest Hospital locations.
Job Requirements- Knowledge of and ability to fluently play an acoustical instrument.
- Excellent communication and interpretation skills.
- Teaching skills helpful.
- Musical talent, discipline and perseverance.
- 3+ years of experience playing acoustic instrument(s).
