Job SummaryAssists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.
Job RequirementsEducation and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent:
Preferred - Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience:
Preferred - Scrub technician experience:
Preferred - Operating room experience and/or training course:

Licenses/Certifications:
- Surgery Technician certification:
Preferred - CPR or BLS certification:
Required - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):
Preferred
- Prepares for each surgical case by checking supplies and equipment, assembling sterile fields, and reviewing inventory.
- Maintains sterile field and labels solutions according to standards.
- Transports patients and provides clerical duties as needed.
- Performs instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with RN.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
