Position Information
Shift work:
Library branches may be open various days and hours of the week, including evenings and weekends.
- Performance Exam: qualified candidates will be notified at least five days prior to the examination.
- Examination Format:
The Performance Exam (Weight 100%) evaluates skills in information analysis and written communication and may be administered on a computer. - Alternate Appraisal:
If there are insufficient candidates for a performance exam, the Human Resources Division may conduct an appraisal of application materials, weighted at 100%. - Score Requirement:
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.
- Experience includes reading and interpreting legislation and regulations, conducting research, budget preparation, managing projects, preparing grant proposals, and negotiating contracts.
- Applicants must attach a copy of their degree or transcripts verifying the conferral of their Bachelor’s degree or completion of their education.
- Admittance to the examination requires valid government‑issued photographic identification. Applicants unable to present proper identification must arrange with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.
- Background check may be conducted for this classification.
- Post‑offer medical and drug screening tests may be required at County expense.
- Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve months, unless otherwise specified by the Civil Service Commission.
