We're looking for someone to join our team as a Network Engineer II who:

The Network Engineer II is responsible for the management and optimization of the organization's network infrastructure. They design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and securely. The Network Engineer II monitors network performance, resolves issues, and implements security protocols to protect the network from external threats. They contribute to network expansion projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network performance, and lead troubleshooting efforts for network issues.

Additionally, the Network Engineer II will support the implementation of new technologies and network upgrades. Their expertise in configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs allows them to improve overall network security and performance. The Network Engineer II will also mentor entry-level staff and provide technical support to end-users.

Essential Functions:

Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and execute network strategies to enhance network availability and performance.
  • Assess current network infrastructure and identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Work with senior engineers to plan for network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
  • Provide input into the planning of network infrastructure for mid-sized projects.
Acquisition & Deployment
  • Manage the installation, configuration, and optimization of network hardware and software.
  • Configure network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs) for security and performance.
  • Lead the testing and validation of network components, ensuring they meet organizational requirements.
  • Assist in selecting and procuring network hardware, software, and services that align with business needs and budget.
Operational Management
  • Monitor network performance, analyzing data and providing insights for improvements.
  • Implement and enforce network security protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and resolve performance or connectivity problems.
  • Perform network maintenance, including upgrades, patches, and backups, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining network documentation (network diagrams, SOPs, etc.).
  • Provide technical support for end-users, ensuring network issues are resolved in a timely manner.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years experience in network administration and engineering.
  • Strong experience in configuring and troubleshooting network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with network security measures like firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems.
