Kern Community College District accepts applications for part‑time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. Applications submitted remain active for up to two years. This pool will be used to staff part‑time adjunct positions as needed for the 2025‑2026 academic year.

Salary: $67.00 Hourly (rate may vary based on assignment type and Lecture Hour Equivalent formula).

Staff part‑time adjunct positions as needed for the 2025‑2026 academic year.

• Master’s degree in the language being taught, or
• Bachelor’s degree in the language being taught AND a Master’s in another language or linguistics (or the equivalent).
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a service recognized by NACES or ACEI.
• Application will be screened by a committee; meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.

• Work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment promoting innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population
• Work effectively with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, and academic goals
• Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities
• Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Maintain subject‑matter currency
• Assess student learning outcomes
• Use computers and explore new technologies that benefit the program
• Commit to the California community college mission
