Basic FunctionPlease Note:
Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately, if a need arises, without waiting for a new advertisement. Applications remain active for up to two years. The starting salary is $60.00/hour, but may vary based on assignment type and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula.

- Teach at various campus sites, including day/evening classes, weekends, large classes, and online courses, using multiple methodologies.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation programs.
- Maintain current subject matter expertise.
- Develop and revise curriculum.
- Utilize computer and multimedia technology.
- Engage in departmental, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.
Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience OR any associate's degree and six years of professional experience OR equivalent qualifications. Applicants must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds. Degrees must be from accredited institutions, and foreign degrees require evaluation.
