ACTIVITY LEADER: CREATIVE ARTS, 3.5-4HR.
JOB GOAL: To assist school staff in developing and implementing meaningful, well-organized extended day art activity program for participating students

- Adheres to full implementation of program guidelines and procedures of the Extended Learning Program
- Assists in developing and implementing creative arts activities for participating students
- Works with individual students or small groups of students as needed
- Works with parents and staff in promoting understanding of extended day program
- Participates in inservice training programs as needed
- Assists in selection of appropriate supplies, materials, and equipment
- Assists in maintaining necessary records and files
- Maintains high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students
- Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate
- Current Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate and/or criminal background clearance by Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to work with children of diverse ethnic, racial, cultural, educational and economic backgrounds
- Demonstrated abilities in variety of basic art techniques
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to work with children of diverse backgrounds
- Passage of BCSD Paraprofessional Test or CBEST or an equivalent credential
- Salary: $20.03-$32.55 per hour. 10 month positions:
Annual salary is divided into eleven (11) equal monthly payments. - EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Verification of one (1) of the following: two years (48 semester units) of study at an accredited college or university; associate's or higher degree from an accredited college or university; passage of BCSD Paraprofessional Test; CBEST
- Copies of required certificates, transcripts or diplomas may be submitted with application. Official transcripts will be required upon employment for positions requiring college work
- Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and a valid California driver’s license
- Fingerprint clearance by the FBI and the California DOJ is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met
- Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter
