Welding Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool - IWV

Location: Ridgecrest, CA
Department: Industrial Arts (INDA)
Job Type: Temporary – Adjuncts
Salary: $67.00 Hourly (may vary based on assignment and LHE formula)

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in a full range of Welding courses.
  • Teach at other campus sites, day, evening, weekend, large classes, distance learning using multiple teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Industrial Arts department.
  • Maintain subject matter currency; develop and revise curriculum.
  • Use computer and multimedia technology.
  • Participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
  • OR Associate's degree and six years of experience.
  • OR Possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Welding at the California Community College level.
  • OR Equivalent qualifications judged equal by the admission committee (submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form with supporting documents).
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Foreign degrees must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
  • Screening committee reserves right to limit the number of interviews. Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
  • Work effectively with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
  • Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
  • Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain subject matter currency.
  • Assess student learning outcomes.
  • Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission.
