• Provide instruction in a full range of Political Science courses.
• Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Science department.
• Maintain subject matter currency and develop/revise curriculum.
• Use computer and multimedia technology.
• Participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.
• Teach using multiple methodologies and at other campus sites, including day, evening, or weekend classes, large classes, distance learning classes, and classes for incarcerated students.
• Review links to inmate education program sites:
  Rising Scholars Education Program; CCCC Rising Scholars Program.

• Master’s in Political Science, Government, or International Relations;
• or Bachelor’s in any of the above and Master’s in Economics, History, Public Administration, Social Science, Sociology, ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.;
• or possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Political Science at the California Community College level;
• or equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments may be judged as equal.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Foreign degrees must be evaluated by an accredited evaluation service.
