Kern Community College District accepts applications for part‑time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. Applications remain active up to two years. This position is part of the hourly adjunct instructor pool. The starting salary is $67.00/hour; the rate may vary based on assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent formula. Refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or your college HR office for more information.

• Any Bachelor's degree AND two years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught; OR
• Any Associate's degree AND six years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught; OR
• Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and accomplishments judged equal to the stated minimums.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. International degrees must be evaluated by an approval service.

The screening committee will conduct initial screening and reserve the right to limit the number of interviews granted.

• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
• Ability to effectively work with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
• Ability to develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain subject matter currency.

• Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program.
