The successful applicant will provide instruction in a full range of Anthropology courses. Other duties include:

• Participation in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Social Science department
• Maintaining subject‑matter currency
• Developing and revising curriculum
• Using computer and multimedia technology
• Collegial participation in departmental, college and discipline‑specific professional activities

• Master’s degree in anthropology or archaeology; or
• Bachelor’s in anthropology or archaeology AND Master’s in sociology, biological sciences, forensic sciences, genetics, or paleontology; or
• Possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Anthropology at the California Community College level; or
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, and accomplishments (equivalence form required)
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

• Effective collaboration with colleagues in a diverse teaching environment
• Work with students of varied skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals
• Curriculum development, including online and blended modalities
• Recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities
• Oral and written communication skills
• Subject‑matter currency maintenance
• Assessment of student learning outcomes
• Computer skills and willingness to explore new technologies
• Commitment to the California community college mission
