Overview
Sierra School Equipment Company (SSEC) is seeking a detail-oriented Designer/Drafter to create accurate drawings and design documents in support of our projects. This role works closely with the sales team and, at times, with customers to translate their ideas and needs into clear furniture plans. The designer must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to establish effective working relationships with the SSEC team.
Responsibilities- Develop layout designs based on specifications, sketches, and standards
- Prepare design presentations including technical drawings and photorealistic renderings
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Provide a complete bill of materials for projects
- Coordinate with team members to incorporate feedback and updates
- Maintain an organized filing structure and project documentation
- Participate in ongoing learning of furniture products, systems and catalogues
- Proficiency in CAD software (we use Configura; training provided)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and architectural sheets
- Relevant education in drafting or design
- Readiness to learn in a fast-paced working environment
