Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk
Most bookkeeping jobs are described as data entry with a pulse.
This isn’t one of them.
In a CPA firm, bookkeeping determines whether tax season is calm or catastrophic. Clean books mean confident conversations. Messy books mean explanations.
This Bakersfield CPA firm is looking for a Bookkeeping Manager with prior CPA firm experience who understands that distinction.
You’ll oversee full-cycle client books: GL clean-up, journal entries, fixed assets, multi-state payroll, quarterly and annual filings, AP/AR, and monthly financial reporting. You’ll review work, guide staff, and ensure financials are tax-ready, not tax-rescued.
Hybrid, intentional, and structured.
Why this role makes sense:- $70,000 – $100,000 depending on experience
- Leadership within a CPA environment
- Direct impact on client outcomes
- Stability with long-term growth
- Strong GAAP and GL clean-up expertise
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines
- Someone who takes pride in books that reconcile the first time
