Accounting Specialist

Position Summary

A well-established farming company in Bakersfield is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger support, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial record‑keeping in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.

• Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, and prepare payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Generate and distribute customer invoices
• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing procedures
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations
• Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation

• Required:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage or similar ERP systems)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
