Grower Accountant

Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Grower Accountant to support financial and accounting functions within the agriculture industry. This role will collaborate closely with operations and finance to ensure accurate crop costing, grower reconciliations, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings agriculture accounting exposure, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare monthly grower accounting statements and reconciliations
• Track crop production activity, harvest data, inputs, and costs by ranch/block
• Perform grower settlements and ensure timely payments and accruals
• Partner with operations to validate production reports and cost allocations
• Support budgeting and forecasting related to crop financials
• Maintain accurate crop inventory and costing records
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting
• Support audits and provide documentation as needed
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or related field, preferred not required
• 2-4 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting concepts
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/financial systems
• Ability to interpret production data and cost drivers
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
