Sr Staff Accountant

The Senior Accountant prepares financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
• Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Maintain the general ledger
• Perform account analysis and reconciliations for petty cash, long-term liabilities, Op X, CAP X, fixed assets, CIP, short/long-term liability adjustments, interest income/expense, insurance accounting, and prepaid accounts
• Perform payroll accounting including payroll entries, accruals, bonus and other compensation monthly entries and accruals
• Perform Right of Use and Lease Accounting
• Account for depreciation and amortization
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including journal entries and account analysis for stock-based compensation, debt accounting, and intangibles
• Provide financial statement, audit, and other support as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Highly proficient with accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
• Minimum five years of accounting experience required
