Position Information
Baker School District is seeking Oregon candidates for a 1.0 FTE hybrid Speech Language Pathologist position in the Special Education Department for the school year. This is a five-day work week, primarily virtual/remote with in-person services or meetings occasionally required. Must reside in Oregon.

Annual Salary
The annual certified salary schedule for the school year is $61,206 - $88,260 (pending negotiations for the salary schedule). For 1.0 FTE with an unrestricted license, the salary range is $61,206 - $88,260; for an Emergency/Restricted License, the annual salary is $45,905. Baker School District considers all U.S. teaching experience years and educational degrees in determining placement on the salary schedule.
Initial placement on the Certified Salary Schedule begins with the degree that granted licensure. Currently, teacher contracts are approximately 175 days.

District Policy
The district provides veterans and disabled veterans with preference as required by law. During the application process, a veteran will need to submit the following:

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST VIRTUAL/REMOTE
The primary purpose of this position is to screen, evaluate and identify eligible students for speech and language services; design, implement and evaluate appropriate intervention strategies; collect student performance data and establish and maintain a daily schedule. A primary focus is the identification of students with Communication Disorders under IDEA Child Find regulations. Services are designed to help children meet educational goals.
This position may supervise communication assistants as necessary and provide information relative to communication disorders to students, parents, teachers and others. This position is primarily virtual and employees work remotely; in-person services or meetings may occasionally be required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for the position.
- Valid Oregon Teaching License in Speech Impaired or Communication Disorders or valid Oregon State Board Speech Pathology License.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective online learning environment.
- Possess excellent time management skills including the ability to set goals, focus, organize, prioritize, communicate and delegate.
- Ability to assist in the development, revisions and evaluation of the curriculum and instructional services.
- Ability to assist in the development of school plans and procedures for health, safety, discipline and conduct of students as established in district procedures.
- Ability to serve as liaison between the school and community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and encouraging parent involvement.
- Ability to provide direction to others and to make independent judgments.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and community.
