Futures recruitment are working with a well known and growing manufacturing business in the region who are looking to appoint an In-House Electrical Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, forward-thinking manufacturer known for quality, innovation, and investment in its people. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production through high-quality electrical assembly, panel wiring, and fault-finding.
The In-House Electrical Technician will be responsible for building, wiring, and maintaining electrical control panels and associated systems used within a busy manufacturing environment. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure equipment is built accurately, safely, and to specification.
This is a hands‑on role suited to a technician who is confident working from technical drawings and electrical schematics.
Key Responsibilities- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Building and wiring control panels in line with engineering specifications
- Installing electrical components including contractors, relays, PLCs, drives, and circuit protection devices
- Testing panels and systems to ensure correct functionality prior to commissioning
- Carrying out fault‑finding and rectification work when required
- Supporting installation and commissioning of equipment within the factory
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant electrical standards and health & safety regulations
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records
- Proven experience in an electrical technician or panel wiring role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wire panels accordingly
- Experience working with control panels and industrial electrical systems
- Knowledge of PLC wiring (programming experience advantageous but not essential)
- Understanding of electrical regulations and safe working practices
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
