Initial project based in Shipley. Some travel will be expected after completion.
The company are a dynamic and growing construction contractor delivering high-quality projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors operating nationally from their Yorkshire based office.
We are now looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead site delivery and ensure excellence in project execution.
Role OverviewAs Site Manager, you will be responsible for on-site leadership, delivery, and performance of construction projects. You will coordinate all site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be the primary point of contact on site for all subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Site Leadership & Delivery- Manage and supervise daily site operations from mobilisation to completion.
- Oversee subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient, productive working practices.
- Implement construction programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Maintain high quality standards and compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and welfare standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, tool‑box talks, and risk assessments.
- Maintain site documentation including RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and incident reports.
- Act as main point of contact for clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Chair site meetings and provide regular project updates.
- Resolve day‑to‑day site issues promptly and professionally.
- Monitor site expenditure, subcontractor costs, and materials usage.
- Assist with forecasts, valuations, and progress claims.
- Coordinate deliveries and resource allocation to support progress.
- Ensure workmanship meets the required standards and specifications.
- Prepare daily site reports, progress photos, and handover documentation.
- Support snagging, commissioning, and project close‑out activities.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager within construction.
- Experience across a range of sectors, desirable but not essential.
- Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
- Proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills.
- Able to motivate teams and maintain high standards.
- Competent in construction software and technology (MS Office / reporting tools).
- CSCS or equivalent Site Management Safety Training Scheme certification.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or willingness to obtain.
- Construction‑related qualification (HNC/HND or degree) desirable.
- Driving licence essential.
