Control Engineer at Ivy PartnersAs a Control Engineer at Ivy Partners, you will be tasked with:
- Developing the application layer of control software for traction converters in customer projects, from software requirements definition to operational release on the final system.
- Creating and updating software documentation according to defined standards and homologation needs.
- Testing and troubleshooting software across various environments, such as real-time simulators and laboratories, and supporting our customers during commissioning and homologation on the vehicle. Please be prepared to travel between 20 to 30% of the time.
- Providing technical support to peers, other disciplines, and customers throughout project development, laboratory testing, homologation, initial operation, and service.
- Coordinating technical solutions with peers to maximize software reuse, minimize the risk of bugs, and accelerate standardization.
You are our ideal candidate if:
- You possess a university degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- You bring at least 4 years of experience in software development for closed-loop control, signal processing, algorithms, and real-time programming mechanisms.
- You are experienced with IEC 61131-3 programming languages (CODESYS) and Matlab Simulink.
- You are familiar with software versioning tools (SVN, Git).
- You apply a well-structured approach to creating high-quality software and documentation.
- You have extensive knowledge in converter control, power electronics, or the automotive and railway industries.
- You have experience with communication protocols and field buses (CAN, TRDP, J1939, MVB, etc.).
- Understanding of software development process standards (like EN 50657, EN 50128, or ISO 26262) is a plus.
- You can effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, learn quickly, and are eager to tackle new challenges.
- You are creative, solution-focused, and possess strong communication skills in both written and spoken English;
German is a plus.
