Head of Risk

Who we are:

We at Swissblock are a private investment firm on a mission to lead the way in cross-asset investing. With a keen understanding that timing is paramount, we employ a systematic approach that combines robust algorithmic trading with exhaustive cross-asset market analysis.

We are currently seeking our Head of Risk to build out the Risk Management function for our traditional finance trading groups. The role will report into the Chief of Staff and will be based from our head office in Baar, Switzerland.

As Head of Risk, you will be responsible for:

• Develop and implement Swissblocks’ global risk management framework across all asset classes and strategies, including OTC Derivatives (IRS TDS CDS), FX, Futures and Equities.
• Ensure that market risks arising from the relevant portfolios are identified, captured, reported and managed within risk appetite.
• Define the firm’s risk appetite and tolerance thresholds in collaboration with senior management.
• Build and manage a team of risk management experts and act as a trusted advisor to senior management.
• Establish and maintain policies, standards and governance structures to promote a consistent risk culture across the business.
• Perform analysis, including stress tests and scenario analysis, to evaluate how portfolios might perform under market and macroeconomic changes.
• Lead the testing and onboarding of new risk technologies.

• 5-10 years experience in Risk Management within financial services with experience in a management or head of position.
• Experience with the relevant asset classes and products Swissblock works with.
• Understanding and experience of implementing risk management frameworks.
• Experience hiring for and building a risk team around you.
• Proficient in German and English communication.

• Experience in and/or exposure to Finma regulated asset managers.
