Overview
The role of the Production Operator includes, but is not limited to, all phases of batch processing and packaging. This includes all manual charges and sampling of reactors and blend tanks. Production Operators will perform all required SAP functions in a timely manner. This individual must possess good interpersonal, communications, problem solving, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. Have a firm commitment to safety, the environment and must have the understanding that product quality is critical to our customers.
Operators will maintain all required SOPs, regulatory training and abide by all Federal, State and local agencies regulations. Operators must have a “Right the first time” attitude to reduce hazardous waste, off-spec material and unnecessary costs.
- Production Processing:
Staging & charging materials, making adjustments, pulling samples, packaging, “Right-the-first-time” production, ISO compliance for all product made and packaged, COMMUNICATE proactively — Time allocation: 50% - Development – competency training, review SOPs, continuous improvement in safety / housekeeping — Time allocation: 15%
- Reduce costs – eliminate production variances, maintain accurate RM and FG inventories, unscheduled OT, waste minimization — Time allocation: 15%
- Hazardous Waste Management – maintain the satellite hazardous waste accumulation stations and the hazardous waste cage — Time allocation: 10%
- Reporting – plant metrics and tracking improvements — Time allocation: 5%
- Polyester batch processing knowledge
- DCS Knowledge
- SAP Skills
- Fundamentals of hazardous waste regulations
- Problem solving & prioritizing skills
- Inventory & Cycle Counts, DOT & IATA regulations, ISO practices and principles, Responsible Care
High school diploma or equivalent at minimum.
