The Department of Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics invites applications for a full-time position as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Statistics. This position involves instructing undergraduates in statistics and data science courses, along with maintaining an active research program and participating in undergraduate mentoring and advising. Qualified candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education. The potential to develop an externally funded research program is preferred.

Candidates must have a strong record of scholarly and professional achievements.

The Department of Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics is composed of eight full-time faculty, two part-time faculty, and various adjunct faculty. There are over 130 students seeking degrees in six majors, six minors, and one master’s program: majors in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, minors in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics, and MS in Applied Statistics and Data Science.

Teach courses in statistics, mathematics, data science, or related fields, maintain an active research program involving students, mentor and advise students, and participate in department and university affairs. Engage in ongoing professional development (e.g., seminars and conferences) to stay current with cutting‑edge pedagogies and methodologies.

Salary commensurate with experience.

• Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics is required.

All candidates should have experience teaching statistics at the university level. The ideal candidate will have an active research program.

Teaching load of 24 units per academic year is required. Typical workloads are 4 courses per semester over 9 months. The faculty will be working under the general direction of the Chair of the Department Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics.
