Main duties of the job
You will be based in our South Ayrshire service, which provides emotional and practical support to individuals and families affected by alcohol and drug use. Our teams work with people at every stage of their recovery journey, providing evidence‑based psychosocial interventions, helping clients build resilience, exploring the root causes of substance misuse and achieving meaningful change.

Change (in partnership with NHS Ayrshire & Arran and Ayrshire Council on Alcohol) - Recovery Out of Alcohol and Drugs Support Service (ROADS) (in partnership with Recovery Ayr and Barnardo's)
As Service Manager, you will be responsible for collaboratively leading the service to ensure high performance by meeting targets and KPIs, creating a supportive and inclusive environment, supporting staff in high‑performing recovery work, overseeing quality assurance and safeguarding, and managing competing demands and tight timescales. You will work closely with the Head and Director of Service Delivery to ensure clear communication and a mutually agreed delivery of service.
Essentialresponsibilities
- Lead and develop a cohesive team, providing clear direction aligned with organisational aims.
- Maintain and build the service profile externally, acting as a strong advocate for With You.
- Ensure safeguarding of service users, sharing concerns and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Build strong relationships with other agencies to deliver comprehensive support.
- Support staff development, motivation and retention.
- Oversee quality assurance and meet service KPIs.
- SSSC Registered Managers qualification or equivalent (or willingness to complete).
- Proven track record of managing and supervising others.
- Experience in drug and alcohol support services, or equivalent social care setting.
- Experience of partnership working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience of working within community‑based services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated motivational leadership and ability to inspire others.
Permanent, full‑time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm, with some evening and weekend flexibility). Salary: £38,000 – £44,000 per annum. Closing date:
Friday 6 February 2026.
