As a Team Manager in Food, you’ll lead a shop‑floor team to deliver exceptional availability, 5‑star service and commercial results. This is a frontline leadership position in one of the UK’s most competitive retailers.

• Lead and coach a team to deliver consistently under pressure, setting standards and building capability.
• Manage sales, standards, availability and team performance, taking accountability when outcomes don’t meet expectations.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver a seamless customer experience, fixing problems early and working with pace and purpose.
• Drive commercial performance by understanding the numbers, translating them into action and keeping the team focused on priorities.
• Support the growth and profitability of the store through the retail plan and KPI measures in your area of accountability.
• Recruit, develop, and support talent within the customer assistant team, meeting succession requirements.
• Ensure colleagues understand and are motivated to deliver their part, supporting safe and legal trade practices.
• Provide operational excellence, maximise product availability, minimise stock and cash loss, and maintain a safe store environment.
• Use data and insights to enhance the in‑store customer experience and operational performance.
• Partner with BIG and support their development, ensuring line‑management activities comply with company processes and policies.

• Lead a team to deliver excellent customer service and KPI outcomes across the store.
• Understand commercial, visual, operational and people processes, systems and MI to identify opportunities.
• Apply VM principles and use systems effectively, recognising legal requirements in your area.
• Communicate effectively, inspire, share knowledge and resolve difficult conversations with colleagues.
• Plan and review performance across the week and month, delivering under pressure while demonstrating resilience.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the store and region, showing flexibility and a growth mindset.

• Embed change for lasting commercial impact, addressing resistance and supporting adaptation.
• Take ownership and accountability for team success, coaching peers and recognising high performance.
• Use customer feedback and market trends to guide team work, and communicate clearly and timely.
• Collaborate proactively with colleagues across the business to seek the best solutions for M&S.
