We are retained by a high-end, privately owned care provider delivering exceptional services to private-paying clients. The business is entering a critical phase of controlled growth and is seeking an Operations Director to provide strong, disciplined leadership across quality, compliance, and commercial performance.
Subject to the achievement of agreed KPIs and strategic targets, this role offers a progression route to Managing Director.
This is a hands-on, office-based leadership position, requiring a senior operator who leads from the front, sets uncompromising standards, and is prepared to work at all levels of the organisation to ensure consistent delivery.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Owners, the Operations Director will hold full accountability for operational performance across all care services. The postholder will act as a strategic partner to the Owners while maintaining absolute ownership of day-to-day operations.
The role combines strategic oversight with operational execution, ensuring the business continues to deliver outstanding care while scaling sustainably.
Key Accountabilities
* Full responsibility for operational delivery, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
* Holding and maintaining CQC registration, with a clear mandate to achieve Outstanding
* Leadership and development of senior management and operational teams
* Delivery of agreed growth targets across live-in and visiting care services
* Financial oversight, including budget management and performance control
* Implementation of robust systems, governance frameworks, and KPIs
* Oversight of service development, including more complex and specialist care pathways
* Acting as a senior representative of the business with clients, professionals, and regulators
Candidate Profile
You will be a credible, senior operational leader with experience in premium, private-pay care environments, comfortable operating at board level while remaining fully engaged in operational delivery.
You will demonstrate:
* A proven track record in senior operational leadership within home care
* Strong regulatory expertise and inspection leadership experience
* Commercial acumen with the ability to deliver growth without compromising quality
* A structured, disciplined leadership style with high emotional intelligence
* The confidence to challenge, lead change, and hold teams to account
Essential Requirements
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Social Care (or equivalent / willingness to complete)
* Significant senior leadership experience within home care
* Strong working knowledge of CQC frameworks and governance
* Full UK driving licence
* Enhanced DBS clearance
