Overview
The Clinical Engineering department provides the equipment clinicians at Buckinghamshire Healthcare need to care for the people of the county. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Engineer to lead our multi-million-pound medical equipment programme, ensuring our fleet remains sufficient, safe, and effective including equipping major new facilities across the Trust. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for delivering high-value capital projects, introducing innovative technologies, and driving long-term strategy.
The post holder contributes to the department's support of the medical equipment fleet with the aim that no treatment is delayed, cancelled or compromised through a failure or shortage of medical equipment that was foreseeable or preventable.
- Lead the multi-million-pound medical equipment programme and ensure the fleet remains sufficient, safe and effective.
- Serve as a senior member of the Clinical Engineering management team, reporting to senior leadership and jointly accountable for operations and long-term strategy.
- Develop business cases and lead evaluations for high-value capital programmes in compliance with governance and budgetary control.
- Adopt new medical technologies and implement innovative acquisition methods to maximise value.
- Negotiate with suppliers and set long-term medical equipment strategies as part of the Medical Equipment Panel.
- Oversee procurement, commissioning and training programmes to support clinical and technical staff.
We require an experienced, highly motivated Clinical Engineer with senior leadership experience in medical equipment management, capital project delivery and strategic planning.
